MOLD & TOOL SETUP 

REPORT TO: MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR


PURPOSE

Perform duties to remove and install molds and accessories. Clean molds as directed.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Document, log, and maintain records as required.


Perform mold change as to securing rails, knockouts, etc., to press; hoist molds and fasten platens; realign platform and work station with press.


Clean molds and maintain cleaning equipment.


Use forklift, pulleys, and other lift equipment as necessary to move and position molds.


Clean plastic molds, use ice blaster to clean moldovers and plastic molds; record on log.


Maintain blasting equipment.


Communicate with Supervisors regarding repairs to set-up equipment and scheduling of mold cleaning.


Perform daily line check on rail systems and core bias.


Organize and maintain mold storage area.


Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition; exercise proper care and safety in the use of power tools, equipment and materials.


Has the authority to stop the process if a safety or quality issue arises in order to inform supervision to make a decision.
