We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) who is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of patients and their families. The individual in this role is responsible for delivering specialized nursing care to patients by coordinating and executing physician-ordered treatments, administering medications, and supporting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. This role involves assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with the care team to evaluate and adjust treatment for optimal outcomes. All responsibilities are performed with a commitment to quality, safety, and compassionate service for patients, families, physicians, and colleagues. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Deliver age-appropriate, evidence-based nursing care to patients, ensuring physical and emotional needs are met throughout the procedural process. Conduct and document comprehensive patient assessments, review medical records, and ensure all pre-procedural standards are met. Assist during procedures by monitoring hemodynamic status, maintaining sterile fields, and anticipating physician needs while adhering to sedation and radiation safety protocols. Monitor patients’ post-intervention, assess recovery, evaluate care outcomes, and modify plans of care collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team. Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the care team, providing education, answering questions, and ensuring a positive patient experience. Accurately document care, medications, and procedures; ensure adherence to HIPAA and regulatory standards; and maintain current sedation and procedural competencies. Enforce universal precautions, aseptic techniques, and biohazard safety standards while maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff. Monitor and maintain medical supplies, point-of-care equipment, and contrast media inventory to ensure readiness and continuous care delivery. Support clinical operations including phone triage, prescription writing, paperwork (e.g., prior authorizations, FMLA), and acting as a resource in supervisor’s absence. Provide training to staff and students, serve as a preceptor for contrast administration, and participate in performance improvement initiatives. Safely and effectively provides procedural sedation under the direction of the procedural physician.   QualificationsQualifications: Registered Nurse licensed in Virginia. Bachelor’s degree in nursing or healthcare field preferred. Moderate sedation experience required One year of acute care nursing experience in a perioperative or procedural setting strongly preferred. Active Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required. Proficiency with computer systems. Proficient in the use of clinical software systems and electronic health records. Demonstrates excellent communication skills.
