Position Type: Full-Time, Contract (Approximately 4 months)
Pay Rate: $34.61 – $36.54 per hour ($72,000 – $76,000 annualized equivalent)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Primary Location: San Jose, CA (On-site: MRB/NCMR location adjacent to receiving dock)
Travel Requirements: Occasional local travel to a 3PL facility in Fremont, CA (Mileage reimbursed)
Position Overview
The NCMR / MRB Coordinator manages the containment, documentation, and disposition of non-conforming materials within a medical device manufacturing environment. Based on-site in San Jose, CA, this role ensures all non-conforming items are properly quarantined, tracked, and dispositioned in strict alignment with Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and ISO 13485 standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Non-Conforming Material Containment: Segregate, organize, and label non-conforming items, components, and incoming materials within designated quarantine zones.
- System & Inventory Transactions: Perform inventory movements and dispositions in QAD (ERP) and Propel (NCMR module). Verify that disposition tasks receive required formal approvals prior to releasing, scrapping, returning, or transferring materials.
- Quality & Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to medical device quality standards (ISO 13485) to prevent unauthorized release of non-conforming materials into active inventory or production.
- Third-Party Logistics (3PL) Coordination: Coordinate material shipments to and from the local Fremont 3PL warehouse. Perform occasional local travel to the Fremont facility to inspect, label, and quarantine bulk items as needed.
- Material Handling & Inventory Control: Operate manual material handling equipment (e.g., manual pallet jacks) to move and stage materials within the work area. Perform cycle counts, maintain identification tags, and preserve overall inventory accuracy.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 3+ years in warehouse operations, inventory control, or quality assurance with direct experience managing non-conforming materials (NCMR / NCR / MRB).
- Industry Background: Medical device experience (ISO 13485) strongly preferred; experience within other regulated manufacturing environments will be considered.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience using ERP software (QAD, SAP, or similar) and Quality/NCMR management tools (Propel preferred).
- Physical Capability: Ability to operate manual material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks) and move inventory weighing up to 50 lbs as required by daily operational tasks.
- Travel: Ability to travel between the primary San Jose site and the Fremont 3PL site as needed.
- Core Competencies: Strong attention to detail, ability to follow written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and effective cross-functional communication skills.
