Collaborating closely with customers and internal teams, you will provide real-time solutions to customer challenges and help enhance our products. Your passion for engaging with customers and innovative engineering drives progress in our industry, solving complex challenges once thought unsolvable. 

What you’ll do

• Collaboratively engineer innovative semiconductor equipment and process design solutions to quickly resolve customer issues and improve product quality in a dynamic, fast-paced, challenging environment.
• Lead product development projects from product prototyping, development, deployment and product release, and initial field support.
• Independently design and conduct experiments, tests, and prototypes to resolve complex technical problems.
• Present analysis and support technical recommendations clearly and concisely. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams to guide the specification and development of products.
• Provide technical support for installation and/or diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and debugging complex product issues.
• Maintain a high degree of customer engagement including face-to-face and international travel to customer sites supporting near-term product releases and solving customer issues.
• Work in a cleanroom lab and/or customer semiconductor fab environment.

Who we’re looking for

• Master’s degree in Material Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optics, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of experience; or a PhD with 5+ years’ experience; or equivalent experience.
• Exceptional analytical and experimental design skills.
• Creative thinking, problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
• Comfortable traveling up to 25% of the time.

Preferred qualifications

• Prior product design and technical engineering experience is beneficial.
• Experience designing, specifying, building, operating, and maintaining semiconductor, automotive, aerospace, or related hardware, tools, and equipment.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
