Description

 

The IT & AI Infrastructure Specialist plays a key technical role in supporting Betts Company’s technology infrastructure, IT operations, security, systems administration, automation, and emerging artificial intelligence capabilities. The role contributes to the reliable, secure, and efficient operation of Betts Company’s technology environment across locations and business divisions and supports technology projects, vendor coordination, business continuity, cybersecurity, and enterprise systems initiatives.

As Betts Company expands its use of artificial intelligence and automation, this role will support the development, deployment, administration, monitoring, and ongoing improvement of AI agents, agentic workflows, intelligent automation, and related technology platforms. The position works cross-functionally to identify appropriate use cases, establish secure and sustainable deployment practices, administer access and integrations, monitor performance, and continuously improve automated workflows. This Non-Exempt position reports to the CFO. 

Requirements

 

  • Support day-to-day IT operations, assigned priorities, projects, and service needs across the Company’s technology environment. 
  • Oversee servers, networks, endpoints, cloud services, enterprise applications, telecommunications, mobile infrastructure, and related technology systems. 
  • Monitor system availability, performance, capacity, security, and reliability; oversee installations, upgrades, patches, configurations, maintenance, and lifecycle replacement. 
  • Evaluate, troubleshoot, and improve information systems; maintain technology documentation, inventories, configurations, system diagrams, procedures, and administrative records. 
  • Establish and monitor Service Desk performance, response expectations, ticket volume, resolution metrics, and recurring technology issues. 
  • Evaluate and recommend hardware, software, applications, platforms, and services; coordinate technology purchasing and equipment lifecycle activities. 
  • Serve as a senior escalation resource for complex IT issues and support scalable technology standards across Company locations. 
  • Support the evaluation, development, configuration, deployment, administration, and ongoing improvement of enterprise AI agents and agentic technology solutions. 
  • Identify business processes that may benefit from AI, automation, workflow orchestration, or agent-based solutions and translate operational needs into practical solutions. 
  • Design and maintain agentic workflows that integrate AI models, enterprise applications, internal data sources, APIs, and business systems. 
  • Configure and administer AI agents, automation platforms, connectors, integrations, permissions, service accounts, and related technology. 
  • Develop standards for the creation, testing, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, modification, and retirement of AI agents. 
  • Monitor deployed agents for reliability, accuracy, security, performance, cost, and appropriate business use. 
  • Establish human review, escalation, approval, versioning, testing, change-control, and deployment practices for automated and agent-driven activities. 
  • Troubleshoot failed or unexpected agentic workflows and implement corrective actions. 
  • Evaluate new AI models, agentic platforms, automation tools, and emerging technologies for potential business applications. 
  • Develop safeguards to prevent unauthorized system access, inappropriate data exposure, uncontrolled automation, or unintended actions by AI systems. 
  • Establish user access and permission standards for AI tools and agentic systems in coordination with Company cybersecurity practices. 
  • Support employee adoption of approved AI technologies through training, documentation, and technical guidance. 
  • Provide technical support, knowledge sharing, and collaborative assistance to IT team members and business users. 
  • Participate in team meetings, project discussions, and other coordination activities as needed to support IT priorities. 
  • Review and work assigned Service Desk tickets, projects, documentation, metrics, and departmental priorities. 
  • Support technology onboarding, user training, documentation, and knowledge transfer. 
  • Maintain and expand technical knowledge as the technology environment evolves, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, automation, AI systems, and emerging technologies. 
  • Serve as a technical escalation resource for complex issues and coordinate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and partners as needed. 
  • Support short- and long-term technology priorities and roadmaps. 
  • Analyze system performance, costs, productivity, utilization, support needs, and upgrade requirements; recommend improvements that increase reliability, efficiency, security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. 
  • Support IT budget planning and technology forecasting and coordinate with vendors, consultants, service providers, and strategic partners. 
  • Oversee security of Company systems, networks, endpoints, cloud environments, applications, data, and enterprise information. 
  • Maintain technology access controls consistent with job responsibilities and security requirements. 
  • Coordinate cybersecurity reviews, assessments, audits, investigations, remediation efforts, and technology risk activities. 
  • Establish security and governance standards for artificial intelligence and automation technologies. 
  • Ensure AI agents and automated systems operate within approved access permissions and established security controls. 
  • Maintain appropriate backup, recovery, retention, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures. 
  • Administer and maintain integrations between business systems, cloud applications, internal applications, and automation platforms. 
  • Collaborate with business departments to improve technology processes and eliminate inefficient or duplicative workflows. 
  • Support implementation and optimization of ERP, HRIS, financial, operational, communication, productivity, and other enterprise platforms. 
  • Follow and support appropriate change-control practices for significant system modifications and technology deployments. 
  • Develop reporting and technology metrics to help Company stakeholders evaluate system performance, service quality, technology adoption, and business impact. 
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned based on business needs.
