Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Disinfection Technician Supervisor the Disinfection Technician II is the primary applicator of products by embodying various technologies specific to the janitorial industry, including misting, electrostatic, barrier application and assisting with ultraviolet light-based disinfection.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support supervisors in guiding disinfection technician I’s

  • Respond in short notice to remediation or airborne illness at a facility

  • Identify high- touch points of a room

  • Spray, wipe and disinfect offices, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other areas.

  • Disinfects all high-touch points (i.e. doorknobs, light switches, sink faucets, water fountains, elevator buttons or restroom surfaces).

  • Understand proper disposal of infectious material wasteĀ 

  • Operates various types of equipment and machinery, which include wet vacuums, hand trucks, vacuum cleaners, carpet extractors, floor buffers, automatic scrubbers

  • Assist with or apply mist, electrostatic, barrier and UV light-based applicationĀ Ā 

  • Understand the significance of each assigned tool for disinfection

  • Understand the significance of each piece of personal protective equipment

  • Read, understand and communicate chemical application instructions, particularly those involving dilution rates and disinfectant dwell times

  • Communicate with team and customer(s) in a professional, knowledgeable manner

  • Occasional pathogen remediationĀ 

  • Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

Required:Ā 

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

  • Ability to travel local and/or long distance (up to 65%)Ā 

  • Previous general and/or janitorial cleaning experience preferred

  • Ability to perform duties and responsibilities of Disinfection Technician I

  • Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Must have the ability to work independently with limited supervision

  • Knowledge of PRO-tech application is preferred, but not required

  • May have on-call responsibilities

  • Ability to obtain and maintain certificationĀ 

Physical Demands:Ā  The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with arms and hands. The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to talk or hear. The employee must lift / move up to 35 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.

The employee may be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc. including AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses. The noise level is usually moderate.
