Alta Vista Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team and help create exceptional experiences for clients and patients during exams and outpatient visits.

 

We are seeking an outgoing technician who thrives in client engagement, schedule coordination, and multitasking. This role focuses on exams and outpatient care because we believe credentialed technicians elevate the quality of medicine, client education, patient advocacy, and overall hospital workflow through their clinical expertise and professional judgment. You'll also have opportunities to expand your skill set and continue growing professionally in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

In this position, you'll play a critical role in identifying patient concerns, supporting efficient case management, educating clients, anticipating veterinarian needs, and ensuring a consistently high standard of care throughout every patient visit.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting efficient exam room and outpatient workflow to ensure exceptional patient and client care
  • Maintaining accurate, thorough medical records and treatment documentation
  • Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
  • Supporting veterinarians during outpatient procedures and treatments while advocating for high-quality patient care
  • Building positive relationships with clients through education, communication, and attentive service

Schedule and compensation:

  • Compensation: $21 - $25 per hour, for each hour worked
  • This is a full-time position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Wednesday - Saturdays. The schedule also offers opportunity for occasional half-days on Saturdays.

  • Bonus package: $2000 based on active, good-standing veterinary technician credentials in the state of Colorado

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

  • 2+ years of veterinary technician experience
  • Active and good-standing Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of Colorado**
  • Proficiency in the following skills:
    • Client education and communication
    • Safe, low-stress patient handling and restraint techniques 
    • Accurate medical record documentation
    • Medication administration
    • Strong critical thinking and attention to detail
    • Effective teamwork and professional communication skills
    • Commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous learning

**Recent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out-of-state license-holders who are eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to apply
