TITLE: Process Technician 

POSITION OBJECTIVE:  Responsible for the beginning set-up and/or automation processes for production, with emphasis on measures to increase productivity, efficiency and utilization.  

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school graduate or equivalent and two years of prior plastics manufacturing experience; one year of technical training on injection molding machines and/or automation equipment preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to fill out simple forms
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or scheduled form
  • Mechanical aptitude required
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Effectively communicate with the shift Supervisor, other departments and other shifts in regard to part quality, equipment, special instructions, corrective action and productivity. 
  • Coordinate warehouse activities to maintain raw materials and outgoing pallets.
  • Respond to machine alarms and take corrective action involving quality issues, processing and or minor machine, mold and auxiliary equipment repairs. 
  • Actively participate in Total Housekeeping Management.
  • Provide technical assistance in maintaining expected levels of productivity in order to fulfill scheduling and quality requirements. 
  • Assist in shift operations as necessary and be proactive in contributing creative and/or innovative ideas for continuous improvement in addition to assistance with special projects as assigned. 
  • Complies with government regulations in adherence of EPA, MSDS, Lock/out-Tag/Out and all other proper safety standards
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:

  • Inside environmental conditions protected from weather conditions, not necessarily temperature conditions.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat.  The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration.
  • The noise level in this work environment is usually very loud and requires hearing protection.
