Oculoplastic Scribe/Tech – Level 1
Home Location: Garden City – Stewart
Travel: Regular travel between East Setauket, Massapequa, and Rockville Centre is required.

Are you interested in building your ophthalmic clinical skills while working alongside providers specializing in oculoplastic and orbital conditions?
As an Oculoplastic Scribe/Tech – Level 1, you’ll combine hands-on patient care with real-time clinical documentation. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment, and interested in growing their ophthalmology experience.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare patients, exam rooms, and medical records for examinations
- Obtain and document medical and ocular histories
- Accurately scribe patient-provider interactions in the EMR
- Perform preliminary ophthalmic work-ups and approved testing
- Assist with visual fields, dry eye testing, photography, and diagnostic imaging
- Instill ophthalmic medications as directed and within scope
- Assist physicians with examinations, treatments, and minor procedures
- Educate patients on testing, medications, and pre- and post-procedure instructions
- Prepare, clean, disinfect, sterilize, and process procedural instruments
- Maintain exam rooms, clinical equipment, and patient-care supplies
- Assist with patient messages and escalate urgent clinical concerns appropriately
- Support efficient patient flow and provide a positive, patient-centered experience
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- EMR/EHR experience preferred; NextGen experience is a plus
- Previous customer service and/or medical experience preferred
- Previous aesthetics, dermatology, or surgical experience preferred
- Strong computer and typing skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
Location & Travel
Home Location: Garden City – Stewart
This is a multi-site position requiring regular travel between:
East Setauket • Massapequa • Rockville Centre
Travel to additional office locations may be required based on operational and staffing needs.
