Lightning Dining Facility (DFAC) | Eglin Air Force Base, FL

Position Summary
Provides food service support in a high-volume military dining facility, ensuring quality food preparation, customer service, sanitation, and dining operations for military personnel and authorized patrons. Assists with meal service, food stocking, cleaning, and maintaining compliance with food safety standards. Lightning DFAC provides full food service operations for Eglin Air Force Base personnel.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve food and beverages in accordance with established portion and quality standards.
• Prepare and stock food items, including salads, sandwiches, beverages, and desserts.
• Replenish serving lines and monitor food presentation throughout meal periods.
• Maintain cleanliness of food preparation, serving, and dining areas.
• Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
• Follow all sanitation, food safety, and health regulations.
• Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food and supply inventory.
• Provide courteous customer service to military personnel, civilian employees, and guests.
• Operate cash registers or point-of-sale systems when required.
• Support opening and closing duties and assist with special meal events as needed. 

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a fast-paced food service environment.
• Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of food handling and sanitation practices preferred.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Must be able to obtain any required installation access and food handler certifications.
