Freedom Detox, part of Pyramid Healthcare, is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join our team in Gastonia, NC.

This full-time, 12-hour shift position offers a consistent Monday–Wednesday schedule from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, giving you the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with clients while maintaining a predictable work schedule.

As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will provide direct care, supervision, and support to individuals receiving substance use and mental health treatment. You’ll work alongside our clinical and administrative teams to help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment where clients can focus on their recovery.

What You'll Do

Complete the intake process for new clients entering the program
Provide direct supervision, support, and engagement with clients throughout treatment
Maintain accurate and timely client documentation
Observe and document client self-administration of medications, as applicable
Assist with client activities and daily programming
Follow treatment plans and support individualized client needs
Recognize and respond appropriately to behavioral and emotional needs, including providing crisis support when needed
Provide safe and professional transportation for clients as required
Transport clients to and from designated locations within expected timeframes
Supervise and support clients during transportation
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment
Support client dietary needs as needed
Complete all required documentation related to services provided
Complete required training and maintain compliance with company standards
Perform additional duties as assigned

What You'll Need

High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous experience in behavioral health, healthcare, residential treatment, or a related field preferred
Valid driver’s license in the state of employment with a safe driving record
Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification required
