Accounting Manager 

ROCK, Ride On Center for Kids | Georgetown, Texas 
Full-Time | Salaried | Exempt 
Schedule: Monday – Friday40 hours/week (occasional weekends and evenings as needed, approximately two Saturdays per year for special events)  
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

ROCK, Ride On Center for Kids, is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and proactive Accounting Manager to oversee our day-to-day accounting functions and help support the financial health of our organization. 

ROCK is a nonprofit organization providing equine-assisted services to children, adults, and veterans. Our Accounting Manager is an important member of our team and works closely with organizational leadership to ensure our financial operations are accurate, efficient, and well-managed. 

What You'll Do 

As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting and financial functions, including: 

         Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable 

         Invoice participants, process payments, and assist with payment questions

         Post deposits and disbursements 

         Reconcile bank and credit card accounts

         Process bi-weekly payroll and record payroll transactions 

         Maintain the general ledger and ensure financial records are accurate and complete 

         Prepare monthly financial reports for leadership and the Board of Directors 

         Maintain participant, donor, and vendor financial records 

         Track fixed assets and maintain depreciation schedules 

         Assist the CFO with annual budget preparation and financial monitoring 

         Coordinate the annual financial audit with external auditors 

         Assist with annual tax return preparation in collaboration with an external tax firm 

         Prepare and distribute annual 1099 tax forms 

         Assist with grant budgets, applications, financial tracking, and reporting 

         Ensure financial records are maintained in accordance with GAAP 

         Provide financial information and reports to the CFO, CEO, and Board Officers as requested 

         Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency 

         Complete special projects and other duties as assigned 

What We're Looking For 

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of their responsibilities. You should be able to work independently while also collaborating effectively with leadership and other departments. 

Qualifications: 

        Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience 

        Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 

        Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and Microsoft Excel 

        Strong understanding of general accounting principles and practices 

        Experience with payroll processing 

        Excellent attention to detail and accuracy 

        Strong organizational and time-management skills 

        Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines 

        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

        Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

        Professional and approachable customer service skills 

        Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive financial and employee information 

        Nonprofit accounting experience is a plus 

        Experience with grant financial management or reporting is a plus
