About the Position
As a CNA in our Acute Care Department, you'll work closely with nurses, providers, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care across a variety of hospital settings. Your role will be essential in helping patients maintain comfort, dignity, and independence while receiving treatment.
Primary Responsibilities
Direct Patient Care
- Assist patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal care needs
- Support mobility activities, including transfers, ambulation, and repositioning
- Help patients with meals, hydration, and daily comfort measures
- Create a welcoming and supportive environment for patients and visitors
Clinical Support
- Obtain and document vital signs
- Monitor and report observations to nursing staff
- Record intake and output information
- Collect specimens as directed
- Assist with cardiac monitoring and EKG-related tasks
- Perform delegated patient care activities within scope of training
Team Collaboration
- Respond promptly to patient needs and call lights
- Participate in shift communication and care team discussions
- Communicate patient concerns and changes in condition to nursing staff
- Foster positive working relationships with coworkers and providers
Department Support
- Maintain patient care supplies and equipment
- Assist with unit organization and readiness
- Participate in education, training, and staff meetings
- Support a culture of safety, quality, and service excellence
Qualifications
Required
- Active CNA certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred
- Active CNA certification
- Previous healthcare or patient care experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
Schedule
- Full-time position
- Three 12-hour shifts each week
- Rotating day and night schedules on a six-week rotation
- Weekend and holiday coverage required
