Associate Scientist, R&D - Packaging Development Â
The Kraft Heinz Research & Development team is seeking an Associate Scientist – Packaging Development. This position provides opportunities to support and lead packaging development initiatives for productivity and brand maintenance of packaging in one of our North American R&D business units. Our project opportunities allow individuals to develop their technical leadership and technical packaging skills through direct interaction with cross-functional teams and introduce high-quality packaging to the consumer-packaged goods market.  Â
Job Duties:   Â
Develop and implement new package launches from concept to commercialization (technical drawing, material specifications, artwork & graphics) in a fast-paced environment Â
Optimize packaging quality  Â
Support (high complex projects) /lead (lower complex projects) as a proactive technical resource  Â
Collaborate with business teams to implement initiatives including sustainability, brand maintenance and cost optimizationÂ
Develop and manage deliverables to achieve R&D timelines  Â
Build and lead primary packaging specifications and related databases  Â
Design and conduct plant trials involving a variety of products and packaging materials formats Â
Develop secondary/tertiary packaging: corrugated cases and pallet/until load standards  Â
Write technical trial reports  Â
Ability to troubleshootÂ
  Minimum Qualifications:  Â
B.S. degree in Packaging, Engineering, Material Science, Chemical Engineering or adjacent technical discipline preferredÂ
Desired experience in the food or consumer products industry  Â
Shown leadership and understanding of commercialization and/or margin improvement programs across multiple packaging material disciplinesÂ
Willing to travel up to 30% pending business needs  Â
Ability to work in office, lab, and manufacturing environments  Â
Strong verbal and written communication skills  Â
Highly motivated with a sense of urgency  Â
Strong attention to detailÂ
Ability to multi-task and prioritize sophisticated projects and routine job functions  Â
Demonstrate a willingness to learn  Â
Willingness to travel up to 30% visiting internal plants, co-manufacturers, and suppliers. Â

New Hire Base Salary Range:
$68,900.00 - $86,100.00Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.
The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors
