1) Purpose of Role

The QA/QC Superintendent leads the execution of Green Tanner Industrial Construction’s (GTI) quality assurance and quality control programs in the field. This position ensures that all work performed meets contract requirements, applicable codes, standards, and customer expectations. The QA/QC Superintendent develops inspection plans, supervises quality personnel, and maintains complete records of testing, inspections, and corrective actions for compliance and continual improvement.


2) Scope & Decision Rights

Owns: Development, implementation, and execution of the project Quality Control Plan, inspection and test checklists, deficiency and corrective action reporting, and quality record retention in Procore.

Supports: Preconstruction planning, constructability reviews, design coordination, subcontractor quality oversight, and turnover documentation.

Recommends/Prepares: Quality control procedures, lessons learned documentation, preventive and corrective action reports, and field training materials aligned with company standards.

Escalates: Nonconforming work, specification conflicts, or schedule risks related to quality control performance to the Project Manager and Director of QA/QC.


3) Essential Duties and Standards

• Develop and maintain the project-specific Quality Control Plan, ensuring alignment with contract documents and GTI’s corporate QA/QC program.

• Plan and perform inspections of work in progress and completed installations to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and code requirements.

• Coordinate third-party testing, special inspections, and material verification in accordance with project schedules and specifications.

• Document all inspection results, observations, and corrective actions within the Procore platform.

• Review and close Procore Observations through structured workflow, ensuring proper root cause analysis and follow-up verification.

• Support commissioning and turnover activities, including the preparation of test documentation, redlines, and as-built record updates.

• Facilitate QA/QC meetings and communicate quality expectations to project teams and subcontractors.

• Promote continuous improvement and preventive action through data review, trend analysis, and lessons-learned feedback.


4) Critical Competencies (
must demonstrate)

• Strong understanding of electrical, civil, and industrial construction standards and best practices.

• Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and quality standards (NEC, NFPA, ASTM, ICC).

• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to procedural compliance.

• Ability to lead QA/QC inspectors and influence field personnel toward quality objectives.

• Skilled in documentation management and digital platforms (Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office).

• Effective communication and report writing for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Analytical and problem-solving mindset focused on proactive risk mitigation and continuous improvement.


5) Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of construction experience, with at least 3 years in a QA/QC leadership or supervisory role.

• Experience within electrical, heavy industrial, or mission-critical environments preferred.

• Thorough knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO 9001 principles and NCR workflows.

• Familiarity with local and national codes and standards (ICC, NFPA, NEC, ASTM).

• Proficiency in Procore Quality tools and other digital inspection/reporting systems.

• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as required. •Osha 30 in the construction industry 




6) Performance Measure Buckets

• Quality Compliance – Percentage of inspections completed on time, number of NCRs resolved, and audit results.

• Documentation Accuracy – Quality and completeness of records within Procore and project handover packages.

• Process Adherence – Consistent execution of QA/QC procedures and compliance with company and client standards.

• Team Leadership – Effectiveness in training, mentoring, and supporting QA/QC staff and field teams.

• Continuous Improvement – Implementation of corrective and preventive measures and contribution to GTI quality program development.

• Client Satisfaction – Positive feedback and repeat business resulting from adherence to GTI’s quality standards.
