JOB SUMMARY

Supervises work activities of cleaning personnel to ensure clean, orderly, and attractive rooms in the hotel and ensures the casino is clean. Assigns duties, inspects work and investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment and takes corrective action. May requisition housekeeping supplies and equipment, take periodic inventories, screen applicants, train new team members and recommends dismissals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assigns workers their duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
Immediately obtains lists of rooms to be cleaned and prospective check-outs or discharges to prepare work assignments.
Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies.
Prepares reports concerning room occupancy for Sr. Hotel Manager.
Performs cleaning duties in cases of emergency or staff shortage.
Issues supplies and equipment to workers.
Establishes standards and procedures for work of housekeeping staff.
Screens job applicants, hires new team members and recommends promotions, transfers and dismissals.
Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to read, analyze and interpret common documentation. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from team members, regulatory agencies or members of the staff. Ability to write and present information to management in a reasonable manner. Ability to quickly and accurately perform normal mathematical computations in regard to the implementation of duties. Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several variables.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent.
