Overall Scope

 

Perform all duties necessary, under the general direction of the Manufacturing Manager to successfully develop new production methods, as well as improving existing methods for the Fuel Injector Manufacturing Department.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer skills, MS Office and CAD software (AutoCAD, ProEngineer, SolidWorks)
  • Experience developing tooling and equipment specifications
  • Experience with tooling and equipment vendors (quotations, contracts, and delivery/installation, project management)
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma tools or other problem solving tools
  • Experience developing/monitoring/improving complete manufacturing processes
  • Experience with TS16949 requirements
  • Proven track record of “on schedule/under budget” project management

 

Essential Duties

 

  1. Develop manufacturing process(es) for new products
  2. Spec and procure all manufacturing equipment and tooling
  3. Create process routings and manufacturing process metrics
  4. Develop Process FMEA
  5. Performs manufacturing cost analysis
  6. Assists in ‘make or buy’ cost analysis for component parts
  7. Improves process/ Reduce manufacturing costs by use of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Tools
  8. Resolves technical issues with respect to process performance (TPM, OEE)
  9. Assists in product transfer from development to production
  10. Develops/Implements training methods for manufacturing and maintenance
  11. Develop preventive maintenance procedures and metrics

 

Ergonomic Focus

 

  • Working at desks and production floor work stations
  • Reading reports.
  • Verbal and written communication including use of telephone and computer
  • Standing/walking/sitting during 8 hour work day
  • Lifting up to 20 lbs frequently
