Job Title: Mortgage Loan Processor I

 

Job Summary:

Assist mortgage loan officers by reviewing application data entered in the loan origination system. Update the loan origination system with verification documents received. Communicate with all parties involved on each individual loan that is originated. Monitor loan status from receipt of application to final credit decision and closing. 

 

 

General Description/Duties:

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Review and complete data entry functions required to register mortgage loan applications, and input mortgage data in the loan origination system.
  • Follow established procedures and guidelines to set up new loan application files.
  • Complete a variety of functions required to produce application exhibits necessary to prove and reconcile data for accuracy and completeness. Generate appropriate documentation in established timeframes.
  • Ensure that disclosures and documents are prepared and sent according to established Federal regulations and guidelines.
  • Order property appraisal, title work, flood determination, required payoff statements, and copy of hazard policy.
  • Interface with customer and all parties involved on each individual loan that is originated from application to closing, including but not limited to: obtaining all necessary supporting documents; overseeing the loan process by monitoring loan status and ensuring conformity with terms; assisting in collecting additional documents and promptly communicating loan status to all interest parties. 
  • Remain current on changes within the legal, regulatory, economic, and technology that may impact mortgage lending.
  • Maintain a professional image and standards consistent with company policies and procedures.
  • Position will be required to comply with all Federal and State banking laws and related regulations, to include but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous loan processing experience preferred, not required. 
  • Proficient computer skills working with spreadsheets, word processing, utilizing the internet/intranet and active engagement using new technology.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail oriented, strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, have a positive approach to work, and be a team player.
  • Able to work flexible hours as needed to accommodate business cycle fluctuations. 
  • Must be customer service focused with a desire to deliver Signature Service to internal and external customers.
