Overview

In this position the selected candidate is responsible to supervise Radiological Controls Technicians.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervising Radiological Controls Operations personnel
  • Conducting training and qualification of Radiological Controls Technicians
  • Providing radiological support to production tasks

The primary assignments of this position will be within the Groton Shipyard and Subase (NRMD) but work may be assigned at any EB site that performs radiological work or radiological training.

This position requires independent decision-making and frequent liaison with EB management and Navy (Squadron, Ships Force, and Naval Reactors) personnel. 

This individual must be able to qualify as a Radiological Controls Technician Supervisor as specified by NAVSEA 389-0288, Radiological Controls.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Currently or previously qualified as a Radiological Controls Technician (RCT) or Supervisory Rad Con Technician (SRCT).
  • 2 1/2 years or more of RCT/SRCT experience
  • Must be willing and able to work 2nd shift in Rad Con Operations
  • Must be able to qualify as SRCT within time frames established by management.
