Summary The Director of Maintenance, Facilities, and Equipment Engineering is responsible to ensure that routine maintenance and facility processes are carried out in the safest, most time-efficient, and cost-effective way. It is also responsible for facility infrastructure needs including HVAC, equipment engineering, energy, maintenance, and new construction. At TSMD our facilities include lab, production, and office facilities and will continue to add to that portfolio as the company expands. Major Duties and Responsibilities Oversee the functioning of all building systems including mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, plumbing, and waste management. Maintain production machinery and facility equipment in a high operational readiness condition. Coordinate with department leads to develop a preventative maintenance schedule for operating and support equipment throughout lab, office, and production facilities. Manage the execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of facilities, production machinery, lab equipment, and production support equipment across multiple production and lab facilities. In coordination with facility management, review and modify existing processes, as well as design and implement new procedures to ascertain and improve operational efficiencies. Prepare reports and compliance documentation. Build and manage a team with the knowledge, skills, and proficiency required to maximize facility operations. Collaborate with EHS Department to ensure plant utility systems meet internal standards and external regulatory requirements includes OSHA, EPA, building codes, and state and local guidelines. Participate and give guidance on the design and implementation of facility expansion, layout, various systems, and quality controls. Analyze project costs and recommend the safest, most time-efficient, and cost-effective option. Train production and maintenance personnel on safe practices and enforce general safety practices. Participate in root cause analysis teams to solve underlying causes of equipment failures, quality issues, safety concerns, etc. Coordinate and direct the activity of all outside contractors performing maintenance related activities on location. Education BS in mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering, or applicable work experience. 10+ years’ experience in facilities engineer or similar role. Skills and Qualifications Expert knowledge in Plant Engineering and Maintenance management. Proven ability to manage schedule, resources, and budget. Strong technical knowledge in the areas of mechanical and electrical systems, electronics, environmental health & safety, quality assurance, risk analysis, and engineering codes. Strong team leadership and building skills and ability to develop highly effective maintenance repair teams. Excellent communication skills. Required to effectively communicate with company employees, contractors, and government officials. Ability to effectively utilize technology including Microsoft, ERP system, maintenance management software. Physical Requirements The position will require both periods of standing and sitting.
