Job DetailsJob Location: Gunter, TX 75058Position Type: Full-TimeEducation Level: High School DiplomaSalary Range: $25.19 - $42.06 HourlyJob Category: EngineeringPosition Summary    The Development Inspectors within the Engineering, Planning, and Construction Division performs field inspections of development projects to ensure compliance with the District’s approved construction standards, as well as local, state, and federal code and regulations.  The Development Inspector collaborates with various stakeholders, including internal teams, contractors, and consultants. This position is critical to ensuring that new infrastructure accepted by the District is held to high quality standards.    Essential Functions:     Development Projects Inspection: Perform inspections on development projects to ensure compliance with plans and construction standards. Inspections will include, but are not limited to, pipelines and their appurtenances, manholes, fire hydrants, vaults, and services.  Project Coordination: Ensure projects are completed according to contract drawings and specifications. Coordinate with operations staff when necessary for tie-ins and service interruptions. Assist in the resolution of conflicts and coordination where multiple development projects intersect or overlap.  Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate regular communication with project stakeholders, including internal teams contractors, and consultants. Provide updates on project progress and alert relevant staff of discrepancies or issues with construction. Provide updates to staff regarding potential changes or improvements of plans to better facilitate expansion or operation of Mustang’s system.  Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.  Review project plans to identify risks prior to or early in the construction process. Monitor risk factors throughout the project lifecycle and adjust plans as necessary to ensure project success.  Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, markups, and inspection records.  Report detailed project updates to the Director of Engineering & Development.   QualificationsQualifications  Development Inspector I:  Education:  Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent  Experience:   Required: Minimum of 3 (five) years of experience in inspection of water and wastewater infrastructure, Or inspection of public works projects, ideally within a governmental capacity.  Training and Certificates  Required: None  Preferred: TCEQ Water and/or Wastewater Licensure, APWA CPII Certification, Relevant Safety Certifications  Development Inspector II:  Education:  Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent  Experience:   Required: Minimum of 5 (five) years of experience in inspection of water and wastewater infrastructure, Or inspection of public works projects, ideally within a governmental capacity.  Training and Certificates  Required: None  Preferred: TCEQ Water and/or Wastewater Licensure, APWA CPII Certification, Relevant Safety Certifications  Work Environment and Physical Requirements:  This section includes job settings and any environmental hazards associated with the position.
