Job Title: Purchasing Clerk
General Definition: The Purchasing Clerk is responsible for administrative and clerical duties related to purchasing goods at Golden Mesa Casino.
Supervision Received: Purchasing Supervisor
Supervision Exercised: N/A
Essential Job Functions:
- Prepare purchase orders and track their status, ensuring accurate delivery of goods.
- Monitor inventory levels.
- Reconcile discrepancies in inventory balances.
- Maintain purchasing files, reports, and price lists.
- Prepare inventory transfer forms to ensure goods are accurately accounted for.
- Communicate with suppliers to schedule deliveries and resolve issues.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of purchasing policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must be high energy, ambitious and customer service oriented
- Must possess strong leadership skills
- Must be able to work effectively with peers, staff members, and regulatory agency personnel
- Must possess strong computer skills to include effective working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Ability to create and maintain documents created in MS Word and MS Excel
- Ability to organize and save documents on an ongoing basis, for retrieval when necessary
- Strong written and oral communication skills required
- Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to exhibit can-do approach and inspire employees to excel; use competition to encourage others to develop performance standards and confront negative attitudes; develop a team spirit
- Knowledge of supply chain methods and techniques, including contract negotiations
- Strong knowledge of automated procurement and warehouse applications
- Ability to convince others in both positive and negative circumstances; use tact when expressing ideas or opinion’s; present new ideas to authority figure; adapt presentations to suit a particular audience; respond to objections successfully.
- Must be able to work in fast paced, smoke filled casino environment
Training and Experience:
- Experience in utilization purchasing and inventory control software, preferred
- Experience in balancing physical inventory to revenue in concession stands and bars, preferred
Licenses/Certifications/Other:
- Must be able to complete pre-employment drug test with a negative result
- Must be able to pass a background check and receive a license or permit from any Regulatory Agency, if applicable to perform the essential job functions
Physical Requirements:
- Strength:
- Sedentary to Medium workload. Stand, sit and walk consistently. Will be required to lift up to or over 40lbs or exert occasionally over 100lbs.
- Movement:
- Will consistently be required to touch, feel, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, reach. Will use office equipment.
- Driving motor vehicles as needed.
- Auditory:
- Frequently speak and articulate.
- Noise levels will be varied from moderate to heavy machinery.
- Environmental:
- Exposure to weather and extreme elements are minimal.
