The Assistant Professor of Business is a full-time faculty position, responsible for delivering high-quality undergraduate instruction, advising students, and contributing to scholarship and service within the School of Business, Media, and Writing.
This role supports the continued growth and development of business programs through innovative teaching, experiential learning opportunities, and community engagement, while advancing student success and academic achievement.
Key Responsibilities and Expected Outcomes:Â
- Teaching and Instruction (Seven courses per academic year)
• Teach undergraduate courses within the business curriculum, depending on academic and professional background including introductory, upper level, and MBA courses
• Develop course materials, learning activities, and assessments aligned with program outcomes

- Course Delivery and Engagement
• Utilize effective teaching strategies in face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online formats
 • Foster an inclusive and engaging classroom environment

3) Student Advising and Mentorship
• Advise and mentor undergraduate students on academic plans and career goals
• Ensure that students are making academic progress in their program

• Improve student retention and progression within their program
5) Curriculum Development and Assessment
• Participate in curriculum design, updates, and program assessment activities
 • Align coursework with standards and best practices
Outcome:
 • Curriculum updates completed on a regular review cycle with documented assessment improvements
6) Scholarship and Professional Development
• Engage in scholarly research, professional development, or disciplinary activities
 • Maintain current knowledge in field
Outcome:
 • Evidence of scholarly or professional contributions annually (e.g., presentations, publications, certifications)
7) Service and Institutional Contribution
• Participate in departmental, school, and university service activities
• Support student recruitment, retention, and program development efforts
Outcome:
• Active contribution to committees and initiatives resulting in improved student outcomes
8) Program Support and Recruitment
• Contribute to initiatives that promote Business programs
 • Engage in outreach and recruitment activities
Outcome:
 • Contribute to enrollment and retention of students
 Required Qualifications:
- MBA, JD, or related degree
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience including the management of people, projects, functions, and/or products, with demonstrated expertise in management, marketing, or business law.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to student success, mentorship, and academic engagement
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching in higher education
- Experience with online and hybrid instruction
