About the Role:
Clem's Seafood is looking for a hardworking and experienced Commercial Fisherman to join our crew out of Southport, NC. If you thrive on the open water and take pride in a hard day's work, this is your opportunity to do what you love with a team that shares your passion for the water.
Responsibilities:
- Operate commercial fishing vessels safely and efficiently in coastal waters
- Set, monitor, and retrieve fishing gear including nets, traps, lines, and trawls
- Sort, clean, and store catch to maintain freshness and quality standards
- Perform routine vessel maintenance, deck work, and equipment repairs
- Navigate using charts, GPS, and other marine navigation tools
- Follow all federal, state, and local commercial fishing regulations and licensing requirements
- Work collaboratively with crew members to ensure safe and productive operations
Requirements:
- Prior commercial fishing or deck handing experience strongly preferred
- Ability to perform strenuous physical labor in demanding outdoor and marine environments
- Familiarity with fishing gear, deck equipment, and basic vessel maintenance
- Knowledge of NC coastal waters, tides, and weather conditions a plus
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work long and irregular hours
