The Accountant II, General Accounting supports the company’s day-to-day financial operations by processing customer billing, journal entries, and other accounting transactions. This position helps ensure invoices and financial records are accurate and up to date while assisting with reconciliations, account research, and resolving billing questions or discrepancies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Accounting & Reporting:
- Process weekly billing and reconcile it between the project management system and ERP
- Reconcile monthly billing by monitoring both internal and customer billing systems
- Assist with month end closing process and financial statement preparation
- Prepare and maintain the trial balance, journal entries, and monthly performance summaries
Personnel Development:
- Evaluate personal development needs and contribute to a team-wide culture of growth and improvement
- Participate in employee continuing education and achieve minimum required hours
Other:
- Assist in answering incoming phone calls, transfer to appropriate parties, and relay messages as needed
- Maintain effective communication between customers, supervisors, field employees, and vendors
- Deliver excellent customer service to support repeat business and referrals
- Complete additional tasks or projects as assigned by the Controller or other company management
Safety/Hazard Recognition & Elimination:
- Pre-plan and identify the methods to eliminate hazards daily by work task.
- Execute skill in observing habits and hazards of others and bringing it to their attention.
- Uphold safety as the most important goal of our company. Support goal of achieving zero accidents.
- Promote and encourage open communication between field and office regarding all safety concerns, suggestions, improvements, and PPE needed.
- Obtain safety training as expected by all company personnel.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (or related field) required
- 1-2 years prior experience in an accounting support role (or other administrative role in a professional atmosphere)
Experience, Skill and Abilities
- Positive safety attitude and personal integrity -- both are non-negotiable
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to see details, recognize errors, and maintain precise standards of accuracy
- Customer service oriented
Physical Requirements
- Office environment, requiring sitting and standing and extended amounts of time using a computer/keyboard at a single workstation.
