Responsibilities:

  • The therapy technician is a non-licensed worker who, upon hire, will complete an on-the-job training program consisting of assisting the Physical Therapist, Physical Therapist Assistant,  Occupational Therapist, and Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant with patient care programs, education, and research.
  • Performs assigned tasks in areas of department maintenance, patient transportation, clerical procedures and predetermined patient related activities.
  • Demonstrates ability to use problem solving techniques to arrive at sound and practical solutions.
  • Participates in pertinent seminars, educational offerings, and department meetings.
  • Has the knowledge and technical skill to provide appropriate care to customers of appropriate age groups when assisting therapists.
  • Recognizes and reports problems promptly through proper channels.
  • Recognizes and responds with appropriate measures to unusual/unstable conditions.
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with staff, peers, supervisors, and patients.
  • Displays cooperative attitude when schedules are changed to meet needs of department and organization.
  • Receptive to changing situations and work assignments.
  • Demonstrates ability to anticipate needs and take effective action; to be resourceful and show initiative.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) 
  • BLS Certification
