Position Overview & General Responsibilities: 

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Corporate Accountant to join our administrative team at Sunnyside. In this role, you'll support our accounts payable team, key accounting functions, including  fixed asset tracking, and financial reporting.  You'll work closely with the Controller and CFO, helping to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial operations across all Sunnyside Corporate & its three communities. 

  • Track and maintain depreciation schedules using the Fixed Asset software system
  • Suppoprts Accounts Payable team and Accounts Receivable processes
  • Process electronic payments and resident bank drafts for monthly billing
  • Prepare monthly sales tax reports and assist with financial audits
  • Serves as system backup for Accounts Payable department
  • Maintain charitable gift annuity records and process payments
  • Generate financial reports using Excel and other tools as needed
  • Assist with special projects and support financial operations across Sunnyside’s campuses
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all aspects of financial data handling
  • Monthly bank reconciliation 

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Acccounting, Business Administration, or a closely related field
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to learn and manage internal systems (AP, AR, Fixed Assets, etc.)
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices, especially regarding entrance fees and revenue recognition
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel to campuses as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality and provide exceptional customer service

Preferred Requirements 

  • 4 years of relevant work experience 
  • Expierence using Sage, Intacct, and Gift Wrap
