Job DetailsJob Location: Hartford, CT 06106Salary Range: $18.50 - $18.50 Hourly Provide smooth and timely flow of patients in accordance with the COHC patient flow guidelines while responding to high volumes of patients in short time spans.   Demonstrate, understand, and perform triage activities for all walk-in patients and medical phone inquiries.   Provides efficient, accurate, and timely medical secretarial support to facilitate patient flow.    Assists with scheduling office visits, internal referrals, obtaining prior authorizations for treatment (as needed), and routing phone calls from patients, physicians, insurance companies and pharmacies.   Completes and maintains standard records/forms/logs according to procedures, as required by department.   Obtains and updates account information including patient demographics and insurance information with minimal errors to ensure accurate reimbursement.  Works effectively within a team to provide high quality customer service and ensure high quality care for our patients.   Maintains a safe, clean and orderly environment for patients and visitors.   Models high level customer service by demonstrating a willingness to serve all patients;  maintaining an awareness of patient needs and responding to those needs within their job duties;  using tact, discretion, and compassion in dealing with team members to ensure quality patient care.  Demonstrates willingness for self-improvement by collaborating with leadership to identify learning needs (reflective of the organization and of the individual) and seek instruction from appropriate resources.  Contributes to improvement by participating in meetings, training, in-service education, and performance improvement activities as directed.     Ability to handle cash and obtain payment from patients as required.  Ability to recognize emergent situation and react swiftly in emergency situations.   Comply with all Federal, state, local, Joint Commission Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), DPH, Subcontractor safety and operational regulations, directives and standards.  Maintain confidentiality of all information and supporting patients' privacy, rights, and safety.  Provide coverage for other clinical areas (as requested)  Must maintain appropriate attendance.  Performs miscellaneous duties as required by management.    Additional Responsibilities  Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule which can include evenings and weekends   Qualifications Ability to prioritize and multitask.  Excellent communication skills.  Demonstrated effective customer service skills along with proper telephone etiquette.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software and basic computer skills.  Able to efficiently function in fast-paced work environment.  Bilingual (English and Spanish) Skill Preferred     Professional Experience/Educational Requirements  High School graduate or equivalent GED.
