Clinical Associate (CNA) – All Units | UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital

Location: Harvey, IL (Greater Chicagoland) | Schedule: On-site, Full-Time & Part-Time available

Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system at UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital as a Clinical Associate (CNA). In this role, you'll prepare patients, assist with meals, and provide the direct, hands-on care that meets each patient's personal, physical, and comfort needs — while we help you invest in your future with generous tuition reimbursement, including up to 100% tuition coverage for eligible employees pursuing a pre-licensure BSN, Masters Entry Nursing (MENP),  Respiratory Therapy, or Radiology degree. This position is a 100% onsite opportunity based in the greater Chicagoland area.

About the Role

Under the leadership of the Manager and Clinical Supervisor, you'll perform supportive functional tasks connected to patient care delivery, working within an interactive care model that exceeds the expectations of patients, families, and physicians. You'll demonstrate the skills and knowledge to provide age-appropriate care in line with the unit's Scope of Care.

What You'll Do

  • Act as a patient and family advocate, providing comfort measures and support that meet personal, physical, and emotional needs
  • Perform hourly rounding and complete assigned direct care tasks under the guidance of the staff nurse's plan of care
  • Assist with patient admissions, including room setup and orientation, and obtaining vitals (height, weight, temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure)
  • Demonstrate unit-specific skills and competencies appropriate to the age and needs of patients served
  • Promote the mission, values, and clinical excellence of Ingalls Memorial Hospital
  • Observe and follow infection control policies and procedures

Why Clinical Associates Choose Ingalls

  • Education Support: Unlimited tuition reimbursement for full-time employees (50% for part-time) toward in-network pre-licensure BSN or Master's Entry Nursing (MENP) programs — including course-related fees and books
  • Hot Jobs Program: After 120 days of employment, full- and part-time non-nursing employees are eligible for Hot Jobs — growth-opportunity positions to advance their careers and fill in-demand roles, with up to 100% tuition paid toward degrees and certifications, including course-related fees and books
  • No Upfront Cost: Direct bill payment available for most in-network programs, so participating schools bill UChicago Medicine Ingalls directly instead of you paying out of pocket and waiting on reimbursement
  • Academic Medicine Backing: Access to the resources, training, and reputation of UChicago Medicine

Required Qualifications

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
  • Active BLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completed Medical Terminology course
