Job Title: Detail Technician

Reports To: Detail Manager

Position Summary:

The Detail Technician is responsible for the cleaning and reconditioning of both new and pre-owned vehicles. This includes interior and exterior detailing to ensure every vehicle meets our dealership’s high standards before delivery to customers or placement on the lot. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, and takes pride in producing showroom-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Wash, wax, and buff vehicles using proper equipment and supplies
  • Clean and vacuum vehicle interiors, including carpets, upholstery, and dashboards
  • Apply protective finishes to exteriors and interiors when requested
  • Inspect finished vehicles to ensure quality standards are met
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the detail bay and supplies
  • Identify any cosmetic concerns or damage and report to the supervisor
  • Move vehicles safely around the lot and service area as needed
  • Assist with snow removal and lot maintenance as needed (seasonal)
  • Follow all safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Support other team members and departments when requested

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in automotive detailing or similar role preferred but not required
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, bend, and walk for long periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Manual dexterity for operating tools and equipment
