Inside Sales Counter Full Time

DEPARTMENT:  Retail Store 

REPORTS TO:  Store Manager 

FLSA STATUS:  Non-Exempt 

POSITION TYPE:  Full-Time 

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The inside sales coordinator is responsible for biding and selling materials for homes, poles barns, and other general construction needs. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1.         Answer any customer questions or concerns in a prompt and friendly manner     
2.         Bid materials used for houses, pole barns, and other general construction needs     
3.         Assist Department Manager in coordination of delivery trucks     
4.         Assist with purchases and customer inquiries at the contract sales counter     
5.         Contact customers, when necessary, to follow-up on orders     
6.         Maintain working knowledge of products and services     
7.         Stock and Recover merchandise on the sales floor     
8.         Keep work area clean and organized     
9.         Operate pallet jacks and forklifts, as needed     
10.         Adhere to Loss Prevention, inventory control, and compliance procedures     
11.         General use of computer to check prices and inventories     
12.         Create special orders, as needed     
13.         May operate forklift or industrial truck to assist in loading, unloading, or moving merchandise and materials     
14.         Safety awareness of anything in store that may be hazard to employees or customers     
15.         Promptly handle any customer complaints, questions, or concerns in a professional and friendly manner     
16.         Additional duties, as assigned     

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS: 

1.         Excellent Customer Service skills     
2.         Must possess strong work ethic and interpersonal skills     
3.         Basic computer skills     
4.         Knowledge of building materials is required     
5.         Construction background preferred     
6.         Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work with constantly changing priorities, with enthusiasm     
7.         Ability to:     

•             Effectively communicate with customers, in-person and over the phone         
•             Read blueprints; accute attention to detail         
•             Calculate different aspects of siding, shingles, metal, etc.         
•             Maintain a pleasant and calm disposition under stress         
•             Understand and follow oral and written instructions         
•             Demonstrate initiative and effective problem-solving skills within the scope of the position
