Job Summary

The Patient Accounts Representative is responsible for managing patient billing accounts from admission through final resolution. This role ensures accurate billing, timely follow-up with insurance companies and patients, and excellent customer service while maintaining compliance with hospital policies, payer guidelines, and regulatory requirement 

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Associate degree or coursework in healthcare administration, business, or a related field preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in hospital billing, patient accounts, or revenue cycle preferred

  • Experience with commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of hospital billing processes and revenue cycle operations

  • Familiarity with insurance guidelines, claim forms, and denial management

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple accounts efficiently

  • Proficiency with hospital billing systems and Microsoft Office applications

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Knowledge of HIPPA and EMTALA guidelines
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, if applicable

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods

  • Ability to use a computer, telephone, and standard office equipment

  • Occasional standing or walking as needed


Work Schedule: 

Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
