PM News Anchor

Work for the #1 evening newscasts in the market, collaborate with award-winning journalists, and make a difference in the community, come join the FOX8 news team.   You’ll anchor the 5pm, 6pm, 10pm news.  We are serious about winning, employing an army of journalists to make the shows relevant and meaningful.  While you’ll play a prominent role on the desk, don’t leave your reporter skills behind, since you will have a franchise as well. Be prepared to have an active role on our streaming app and on our website.  

 Job description:

• Presents news stories and other content for all platforms.
• Ensures that all news content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
• Writes and delivers news stories in a clear and concise manner.
• Assists in writing, copy editing, researching and coordinating news programming and other content.
• Acts as a field anchor as assigned.
• Responds to breaking news and other urgent newsrooms situations as required.
• Participates in promotional activities including public appearances.
• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Skills:

• Minimum four years’ experience in news reporting and anchoring

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
