Hourly Pay Range:

$30.46 - $45.69 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)
  • Location: Highland Park Hospital
  • Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 2pm-10:30pm, e/o weekend and rotating holidays

What you will do:

  • Able to solve technical and interdepartmental problems related to the various  Laboratory areas
  • Capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of results and taking corrective action or notifying appropriate supervisory personnel.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others.

What you will need:

  • Education: Associate's degree and the requisite courses to meet CLIA requirements for moderate to high complexity testing.
  • Certification: MLT (ASCP) certification or equivalent and ongoing active certification is strongly preferred.
  • Experience: MT/MLS: Experience preferred.    Internal MLT Candidate: Two (2) years of experience at NorthShore performing moderate to high complexity testing beyond POC/Waived testing with an achieved competency level of a Laboratory Associate.   External MLT Candidate:  Four (4) years of experience in a comparable healthcare setting of moderate to high complexity testing beyond POC/Waived testing with an achieved competency level of a Laboratory Associate.
