Job Summary

The Graduate Assistant, BMS Social Media Ambassador, supports the Biomedical Sciences department by promoting its programs, events, achievements, and student engagement opportunities through social media. This role is responsible for creating and coordinating engaging digital content that strengthens the department’s online presence and increases visibility among current and prospective students. The position collaborates with faculty, staff, and students to gather content, highlight departmental initiatives, and support outreach efforts across multiple social media platforms.

Essential Functions

  • Create, curate, and schedule social media content for Biomedical Sciences programs, events, achievements, and outreach initiatives.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to gather stories, updates, photos, and other content that highlights departmental activities.
  • Develop creative written, graphic, and video content designed to engage target audiences and promote a positive online presence.
  • Monitor social media channels, respond to comments or inquiries as appropriate, and help foster online community engagement.
  • Assist with tracking social media performance metrics and recommending improvements based on audience engagement and platform trends.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a graduate student in the Biomedical Sciences graduate degree program.
  • Must be attending the Biomedical Sciences program as an in-person student.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience or familiarity with social media platforms, content creation, and digital marketing.
  • Strong organizational skills, creativity, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
