The Assembly and Test Technician plays a crucial role in our manufacturing process, focusing on the assembly and testing of specialized valves. Working at a bench or on the shop floor, you will be responsible for the precise and efficient assembly of choke valves and boarding valves, ensuring they meet our high standards. This role is integral to our production process, contributing to the overall success of our department.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble choke valves and boarding valves, ensuring all components are properly installed and functioning.
  • Conduct hydrostatic testing on assembled products to verify their integrity and performance.
  • Follow detailed assembly instructions and work orders, maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Inspect and identify any defects or issues with the assembled products, reporting them to the supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
  • Collaborate with other assemblers and team members to ensure smooth workflow and efficient production.
  • Keep records of assembled products, including serial numbers and test results, for quality control purposes.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving assembly-related issues, working closely with the engineering team.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting process enhancements to optimize assembly operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required, with a preference for candidates with a technical degree or certification in a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly role, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination, with the ability to work with precision tools and equipment.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently, making sound decisions under pressure.
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems is preferred.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, with a good understanding of safety procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with team members and supervisors.
  • Willingness to undergo training and adapt to new technologies and processes as required.
