Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and experience working with heavy-duty engines and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in diesel engines using diagnostic tools
  • Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, and fuel systems
  • Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and inspections
  • Repair or replace defective parts (e.g., injectors, pistons, turbochargers)
  • Test vehicles and equipment after repairs to ensure proper performance
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records
  • Follow safety procedures and company standards at all times
  • Keep work area clean and organized

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED (technical training preferred)
  • Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and components
  • Ability to use diagnostic equipment and tools
  • Physical ability to lift heavy parts and work in various conditions
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification (e.g., ASE Diesel Certification)
  • Experience with heavy equipment or commercial trucks
  • Familiarity with computerized diagnostic systems

Work Environment:

  • Repair shop or outdoor work sites
  • Exposure to noise, grease, and varying weather conditions
  • May require standing, lifting, and bending for long periods
