Job DetailsLevel: EntryJob Location: 1200 ENCLAVE PKWY - HOUSTON, TX 77077Description of Responsibilities: Applies basic engineering fundamentals to perform engineering assignments while working under the direct supervision of an experienced Engineering Professional. Assists in the design and development of Mechanical/Civil/Structural/Process/Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering packages Assists in the preparation of equipment specifications, data sheets, purchase requisitions and technical bid evaluations for structural equipment and structures, rotating equipment, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping items and other equipment / materials as required Assists in the design and development of field instrumentation and control systems Assists in the preparation of instrument equipment specifications, data sheets, purchase requisitions and technical bid evaluations for field instruments, control valves, flow meters, PLC’s, SCADA systems and other instrument equipment / materials as required Assists in the development of an instrument index, cause and effect charts, instrument location plans, loop drawings, wiring diagrams and other ladder diagrams. Assists in the sizing and selection of control valves and pressure safety valves (PSV’s) Reviews vendor documents Interfaces with instrument designers and liaise with other project disciplines Participates in factory acceptance testing and/or site visits Begin performing tasks using industry standards and other standard procedures and tools Other duties as required QualificationsQualifications / Education requirements specific to this role: Ability to comprehend and interpret technical information applicable to Instrument/Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Civil/Structural Engineering Excellent oral and written communication skills is required High level of commitment to safety Highly motivated and positive attitude Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred Ability to use vendor software when sizing valves is preferred BSc, MSc or equivalent in electrical / chemical engineering/ mechanical/ civil/ structural engineering is required 0 - 2 years of experience Physical Requirements (With or without Reasonable Accommodation): Able to lift and carry ten (10) pounds. Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities which permits employee to communicate effectively. Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time. Sufficient vision or other powers of observation which permits employee to conduct analysis and investigations. Sufficient manual dexterity which permits the employee to perform routine office duties. Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes to perform office duties and travel, when necessary, to off-site locations. Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
