About the role
- It is the role of theĀ DentistĀ to diagnose, treat and advise our patients on various dental issues.
What you'll do
- Examine patientsā medical recordsĀ
- Prepare patients for treatment (e.g. by applying oral sedation or anesthesia)Ā
- Check teeth, gums and other parts of the mouth, along with X-rays and tests, to diagnose dental problemsĀ
- Identify tooth decay and replace cavities with fillingsĀ
- Conduct tooth extractions and root canal proceduresĀ
- Perform surgeries on diseased tissues and bonesĀ
- Prescribe medication as neededĀ
- Educate patients on proper brushing techniques, flossing and fluoride useĀ
- Promote good oral health and preventive dental care (e.g. by scheduling regular check-ups)Ā
Qualifications
- A pleasant and compassionate personality with the ability to make patients feel comfortableĀ
- Experience working with diverse communities preferredĀ
- Bilingual Spanish speaking preferredĀ
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) or similar degree that gives license to practice the dentist professionĀ
- BLS Certification required.Ā
- Additional training and certification in pediatric dental preferred but not required
Continuing Education and Training Requirements
- Participates in training required by the funding source and/or required by licensing board.āÆ
