This is what we believe in, because in the end it is all about people.[GM1]  Our team is currently looking to fill a role for our client in Houston, TX for a Senior Project Controls Coordinator. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist project managers in developing, maintaining, and monitoring project milestones and detailed schedules to ensure target dates and overall project goals are achieved.
  • Maintain an active project Backlog to determine staffing requirements and scheduling conflicts.
  • Monitor actual job costs on a continual basis for project reporting, forecasting and cost analysis.
  • Gather progress status updates at an interdisciplinary level, for reporting on individual projects as required for internal and external customer needs. 
  • Be abel to support an analysis of schedules; identify and investigate project schedule variances. 
  • Collect and update data; update and produce scheduling reports.
  • May participate in planning and scheduling meetings to gain insight to planning and scheduling issues.
  • Gather data for schedule baseline development and maintenance.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of WBS and support activities to implement applicable coding.
  • Support monthly report preparation and invoicing activities.
  • Prepare detailed and summary level Cost Performance Reports.
  • Work within the Company’s Financial and Procedural processes, and assist in revising and updating these to a “Current Best Approach”.
  • Assemble data; taken from project resources and the ERP for trending and forecasting.
  • Collect and analyze data for tracking actual costs to funding limitations.
  • Maintain Earned Value Management System (EVMS) description.
  • Maintain and support EVMS processes for multiple projects.
  • Support periodic internal and external EVMS audits.
  • Provide Project Controls support to Cost Account Managers in the form of reports, graphs, and charts as needed.
  • Assume lead role in monthly production of revised project cost forecasting.
  • Evaluate manpower, labor hour, and labor cost.
  • Review performance trends; prepare analysis, cost impact, and monthly project performance reports.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field OR demonstrated equivalent and related experience. 
  • 5+ years of Project Controls experience in the oil and gas industry. 
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Project, Excel, and a range of ERP systems (Ajera preferred).
  • Must have a solid understanding of the basic principles of project management.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with both cost management AND Scheduling preferred.
