Service Manager – Technical Development & Business

Basis North America is seeking an experienced Service Manager – Technical Development & Business to support the continued growth of our technical services operations in North America.

This position combines technical leadership, field service management, operational coordination, and business development, with a strong focus on turbomachinery and rotating equipment. The Service Manager will oversee Field Service Engineers, support client and OEM relationships, contribute to service strategy, and help expand BNA’s technical capabilities across the Oil & Gas, LNG, Power Generation, and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise Field Service Engineers supporting projects in North America and internationally.

  • Ensure safe and timely execution of installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and overhaul activities.

  • Coordinate technical documentation, EHS requirements, project planning, and field mobilizations.

  • Monitor operational performance, costs, schedules, KPIs, and service quality.

  • Maintain effective communication with clients, OEMs, suppliers, and project stakeholders.

  • Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair strategies for rotating equipment.

  • Assist in developing workshops, suppliers, technical procedures, and service capabilities.

  • Build and support multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.

  • Participate in technical proposals, pre-sales activities, service development, and new business opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in field service, operations, commissioning, maintenance, or project management involving rotating equipment.

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • Heavy-duty and aeroderivative gas turbines

    • Steam turbines

    • Compressors

    • Pumps

    • Gearboxes and auxiliary systems

  • Experience with field service, commissioning, overhaul, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

  • Familiarity with P&IDs, mechanical drawings, alignment, vibration analysis, and predictive diagnostic technologies.

  • Strong project management, planning, budgeting, and cost-control capabilities.

  • Knowledge of service/industrial contract environments such as LTSA, CMOPA, T&M, and EPC.

  • Fluent English.

  • Strong client-facing, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Background

Previous experience as a:
Field Engineer, Service Manager, Commissioning Manager, Operations Manager, Service Coordinator, or similar technical leadership role within the rotating equipment industry.
