Medical Assistant – Orthopedic Practice

Advanced Orthopedic Institute, PA is seeking a motivated, compassionate, and dependable Medical Assistant to join our growing orthopedic practice in The Villages, Florida.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in providing excellent patient care, works well as part of a team, and can maintain a positive and professional attitude in a fast-paced medical office.

What You’ll Do

The Medical Assistant will work closely with our physician and clinical team to provide efficient, high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include:

  • Rooming patients and obtaining vital signs

  • Obtaining and documenting accurate patient histories

  • Reviewing and updating medications and allergies

  • Preparing patients for examinations and procedures

  • Assisting with injections and other orthopedic procedures as needed

  • Preparing and maintaining examination rooms and clinical supplies

  • Completing accurate and timely documentation in the EMR

  • Providing patient education and instructions as directed by the provider

  • Answering patient calls and messages professionally

  • Communicating patient concerns to the appropriate clinical staff

  • Coordinating patient follow-up appointments, testing, and referrals

  • Obtaining outside medical records, imaging, and test results when needed

  • Maintaining accurate and organized patient information

  • Following HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, and practice policies

  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional clinical environment

  • Performing other clinical and administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred

  • Orthopedic experience is a plus

  • CMA, RMA, or other Medical Assistant certification preferred

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

  • Professional, dependable, and team-oriented

  • Comfortable working directly with patients and physicians

  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality

  • EMR experience preferred (Eclinical Works)
