SAIC is currently seeking motivated and energetic UI/UX Designer (Journeyman) to join our team to begin an exciting and challenging career in Ashburn, VA.Â
This position will require on-site work in Ashburn, VA 5 days per week for the first year of employment.
Job Responsibilities
Duties include conducting user research and usability testing to ensure all designs meet user and client requirements, optimizing services and products for a range of clients, and developing mockups for the design and development teams.Â
- Component-Driven Design: Developing structural wireframes, mockups, and task flows tailored for component-based front-end frameworks like Angular and/or React.Â
- Developer Collaboration: Partnering closely with engineering teams to ensure wireframes align with framework constraints, maximizing component reusability and reducing development friction.
- Technical Handoffs: Delivering precise design handoffs, component specifications, and interactive prototypes that map clearly to front-end development structures.
- Developing and maintaining design wire-frames and specifications
- Collaborating with visual designers and creative directors to incorporate brand identityÂ
- Communicating screen designs, interaction models, end-to-end experiences, and the target audience to other members of the project team
- Considering the human-computer interface element of a design
- Comparing the user experience of existing applications and working to design better alternatives
- Keeping current with industry trends and competitor products, and communicating design prototypes and ideas to developers
- Working with development teams to design and implement attractive designs while maintaining consistency
- Developing task flows and wireframes based on user needs
