Overview

Nelson Mullins, an AmLaw 100 law firm, is seeking a Litigation Practice Assistant to join our Huntington office. This position provides administrative and litigation support to attorneys and paralegals handling matters in state and federal courts. The ideal candidate will have prior litigation experience in a law firm or recently obtained paralegal certification and will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with legal professionals on complex litigation matters while developing a strong understanding of the litigation lifecycle.

 

A Day in the Life

In this role, you will work closely with attorneys and paralegals to support litigation matters through case management, document organization, discovery tracking, court deadline monitoring, and client communications. You will assist with the preparation and maintenance of case files, support document productions, coordinate litigation workflows, and provide administrative and operational support to help ensure matters progress efficiently throughout the litigation lifecycle.

he successful candidate will possess strong organizational, critical thinking, and communication skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Candidates should demonstrate professionalism, accountability, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to supporting attorneys, paralegals, clients, and court personnel.

  • One or more years of litigation experience in a law firm or a recently obtained paralegal certificate preferred.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to quickly learn new technology and software.
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of education.
