St. Mary's Medical Center is seeking a HVAC II for our Facility Operations Department.  The Maintenance Mechanic HVAC II, under the supervision of the Director of Facility Operations, Maintenance Manager or designee, performs duties relevant to, but not limited to, maintenance, replacement and repair of air conditioning and refrigeration systems, air handling distribution systems, steam distribution system, medical surgical vacuum systems and medical gas systems which covers electrical operations.  Duties include monitoring, adjusting, and programming the Energy Management System to maintain peak efficiency on utility systems.  Duties include, but not limited to, making repairs to the above systems.  This position requires you to be a resource for contractors and staff as needed on projects when required.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:  High school or trade school graduate including courses in air conditioning, welding, shop mechanics and electricity.  Certification required with Refrigeration Engineers Society at Type I, II as required by 40 CFR part 82 and a current and valid state issued electrical license.  A Refrigeration Certification and 3 years of building control program could be used in lieu of Refrigeration Certification and electrical license.

 

EXPERIENCE: Six to Eight years experience or more in air conditioning, electrical wiring and repair of all kinds of equipment.  Boiler room experience preferable but not essential.

 

SKILLS: Should be familiar with maintenance technique, fire and safety regulations and be able to read and interpret blueprints.  Must be able to communicate with vendors or contractors when needed or required.
