CFD Research is looking to hire a talented Project Scheduler to join our growing PMO team at our Huntsville, AL HQ.Â
Responsibilities:
• Ensure schedule has complete scope coverage, identify potential scope growth, and ensure
allowances and contingencies are appropriately used
• Use industry benchmarks and internal historical durations to validate the quality of the overall
schedule
• Consult with project managers and technical experts to create, update and analyze schedules;
recommend workarounds and schedule improvement ideas to regain schedule slippage
• Coordinating project timelines with internal departments
• Evaluating performance against schedule and prepare project progress reports
• Communicate schedule status on a regular basis via formal and informal meetings and reports
• Work closely with key stakeholders including engineering, procurement, and program
management to properly sequence the work, assess durations, and enhance the overall quality
and accuracy of the plan
• Use resource loading to coordinate the project's earned value system with schedule updates

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience supporting project scheduling, project controls, planning, program management, manufacturing, engineering, construction, or a related discipline.
- Experience developing, maintaining, and updating project schedules using scheduling software such as Microsoft Project.
- Ability to develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), define activities, establish logic relationships, and maintain schedule baselines.
- Experience tracking schedule performance, milestones, critical path activities, and project status.
- Understanding of Critical Path Analysis, Free Float/Slack, and Total Float/Slack
- Experience preparing schedule status reports, critical path analyses, and executive-level presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze schedule data and identify risks, delays, resource constraints, and recovery opportunities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security ClearanceÂ
Desired Qualifications:
- Current Active Secret Clearance Preferred)
- Experience supporting government, aerospace, defense, manufacturing, construction, or technology programs.
- Experience with Rolling Wave Methodology of Schedule Development
- Experience with  Earned Value Management (EVM)
- Familiarity with DCMA 14-Point Assessment and PMI scheduling standards.
- PMI-SP, PMP, or other project management certifications
- Experience using SSI Tools
- Experience with Resource Loading
