Program and Communications Coordinator


Pay: $20-$23 per hour, DOE

Employment Status: Part-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

Schedule: 20-25 Hours Weekly

POSITION OVERVIEW

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Program and Communications Coordinator to support programs, resource development, outreach, communications, and administrative needs that expand access to services for individuals with disabilities. This part-time role assists with program planning, event logistics, grant support, fundraising and donor communications, marketing materials, website and social media updates, and coordination with staff, consumers, volunteers, board members, and community partners. The ideal candidate is organized, tech-savvy, service-minded, and committed to accessible, inclusive service and the Independent Living Philosophy.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate program activities, timelines, materials, records, attendance, feedback, follow-up tasks, and reporting to support service delivery, grant compliance, and continuous improvement.

Support resource development through grant research, proposal preparation, reporting, fundraising, sponsorship materials, donor communications, public relations messaging, and partner outreach.

Assist with community outreach, board and event logistics, CRM/email campaigns, website and social media updates, data tracking, administrative records, front desk coverage, and timely follow-up with consumers.


IDEAL CANDIDATE TRAITS

Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, customer service, technology skills, discretion, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Proficient with Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe, Wix, CRM tools, social media, and email marketing platforms.

Reliable transportation and ability to travel within North Alabama for activities are required.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

H.S. diploma/GED required; associate degree or two years of college in a related field preferred.

3 years' experience in communications, marketing, program coordination, administration, nonprofit services, disability services, or related field preferred.

Event planning, social media, grant writing, reporting, community engagement, and disability-resource experience desired.
