Job Summary:

The Environmental Services Floor Technician is responsible for cleaning of the facilities floors by sweeping mopping scrubbing and vacuuming as well as minor repairs.

 

Work Schedule: FTE 1.0, 40 hours per week, work schedule is Monday through Friday from 4PM until 12:30 AM.

 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Assures that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable and attractive manner.

  2. Cleaning internal areas of buildings, including general cleaning, buffing, waxing, sweeping, mopping, and auto scrubbing hard floors and vacuuming carpeted areas.

  3. Ensures equipment is available for daily work duties and is cleaned and properly stored after use.

  4. Assist in the preventative maintenance program and upkeep of the facility.

  5. Replace lightbulbs and stained ceiling tiles as necessary. Place work orders for other deficiencies spotted to Facilities Services.

  6. Assures that an adequate supply of supplies is maintained in closets to perform daily tasks.

  7. Performs all other related duties as assigned.

  8. Assists in training of co-workers and attends service area meetings.

 

Accountabilities for all Employees:

  1. Adheres to the Hutchinson Health Employee Values.

  2. Maintains confidentiality of the organization and patients.

  3. Reports any health/medical errors.

  4. Observes all Environment of Care policies and reports safety risks or hazards immediately.

 

Education, Training or Degree Required:

  1. Must be able to read, write, make simple calculations, and follow oral and written directions accurately.

 

License/Registration/Certification Required: (will be primary source verified by HR)

  1. None.

 

Experience and Skills: (indicate preferred or required)

  1. Knowledge of housekeeping and equipment maintenance is preferred.

  2. Previous experience working as a housekeeper, janitor, or custodian is preferred.

  3. General knowledge of furniture, floor and wall cleaning is required.

  4. Knowledge of sanitation and cleanliness is required.

  5. Accuracy in following written and verbal orders is required.
