A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A LIFE ENRICHMENT COORDINATOR As a Life Enrichment Coordinator at River Oaks of Minnesota, you will play an important role in enhancing our residents' quality of life, independence, social connections, and overall well-being. You will get to know our residents, understand their individual interests and abilities, and develop activities and experiences that are meaningful to them. Your responsibilities include: Planning, coordinating, and leading engaging individual and group activities based on residents' interests, needs, abilities, and preferences. Developing and maintaining a monthly activity calendar that provides a variety of recreational, social, educational, physical, and community-based opportunities. Encouraging resident participation while respecting each individual's choices, independence, and personal interests. Creating opportunities for residents to remain active and connected to their community, including outings, events, shopping, dining, and other community activities. Providing one-on-one engagement for residents who may not regularly participate in group activities. Building positive relationships with residents and helping create a welcoming, fun, and inclusive environment. Celebrating holidays, birthdays, special events, and resident accomplishments. Working collaboratively with the care team to identify activities and approaches that support residents' physical, emotional, social, and mental well-being. Maintaining activity supplies and assisting with the coordination of entertainers, volunteers, community organizations, and special events. Documenting resident participation and completing required Life Enrichment documentation. Helping residents discover new interests while continuing to enjoy the hobbies, traditions, and activities that are important to them. This is more than planning activities. QualificationsJOB QUALIFICATIONS To be successful as a Life Enrichment Coordinator at River Oaks of Minnesota, you should be dependable, creative, organized, and passionate about improving the quality of life of the individuals we serve. Qualifications include: High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience working in assisted living, senior living, mental health, healthcare, recreation, activities, or a related setting preferred, but not required. Strong ability to plan, organize, and lead activities, events, outings, and resident programs. Ability to develop activities that accommodate residents with different physical abilities, mental health needs, interests, and levels of participation. Must be creative, energetic, patient, compassionate, and comfortable engaging with a diverse resident population. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, staff, volunteers, and community partners. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain an organized activity schedule. Basic computer skills and ability to complete required documentation and create activity calendars. Must possess a valid driver's license and meet company requirements for operating company vehicles and transporting residents. Ability to safely assist residents during activities, events, and community outings. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays to support special events and resident activities. Must successfully complete all required background studies, orientation, and training applicable to the position. Must demonstrate a commitment to resident rights, dignity, choice, independence, and person-centered care. We are looking for someone who doesn't simply plan activities, but takes the time to learn what matters to each resident and creates opportunities for them to stay involved, connected, and engaged in the things they enjoy.
