Maintenance Director at Blacksmith Fork Assisted Living

Job Description:

Responsibilities include general repair and keeping the building up to code and in good shape. Performing routine room inspections. Taking care of mechanical equipment, building inventory, utility systems, and all other duties that deal with maintenance and housekeeping.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Perform major and minor repairs on the building along with repairing other minor or major repairs involving resident's rooms or personal effects.
2. Report any concerns with the building Administrator.
3. Maintain and protect the confidentiality of resident information at all times.
4. Meet or exceed, the standards of appearance; comply with the sanitation rules, hygiene and health standards of community personnel
5. Maintain the cleanliness of the facility.
6. Do weekly maintenance walk arounds with the administrator.
7. Maintain all maintenance logs and calendars.
8. Perform the day-to-day repairs and general maintenance, improvement and preventative maintenance of the building, equipment, and lawn and grounds.
9. Arrange for and manage repairs by outside maintenance and construction services according to procedures.
10. Must be responsive to after hour and weekend calls (24/7)
11. Must have an understanding of, comply with, and promote all rules and regulations regarding residents' rights.
12. Must promote positive relationships with residents, visitors, and regulators, to include presenting a professional appearance.
13. Perform routine inspections on equipment, such as electric, water and gas systems.
14. Manage housekeepers and their responsibilities.
15. Secure chemicals. Make sure residents do not have access to them.
16. Perform other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisor

Job Qualifications:

1. Have the ability to effectively communicate with residents, families, supervisors, and associates.
2. Must have the ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish job requirements.
3. Must have a strong working knowledge of Life Safety code regulations applicable to the health care industry.
4. Must be familiar with state and local building code regulations.
5. Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and to work cooperatively with other associates.
6. Must provide written proof of recent TB test or obtain within two weeks of date of hire
7. Must be positive and deliver a WOW experience through service
8. Performs unpleasant tasks with grace; works cooperatively with supervisors and displays willingness to assist co-workers
9. Willingness to work with the elderly

Universal Precautions:

Exposure to blood/bodily fluids is likely.

Physical Requirements:

Has ability to do occasional heavy lifting of (up to 40 lbs.).
